Zen Blend Fried Chicken

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken pieces
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 tbsp Zen Blend seasoning
  • 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 1 cup water
  • Oil for frying (cast iron, deep fryer, or pan fry)

Procedure

  1. Mix flour, seasoning, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Reserve 1 cup of seasoned flour mixture.
  3. Mix 1 cup of reserved seasoned flour with water to make a batter.
  4. Coat chicken pieces in the batter, then dredge in the dry seasoned flour until fully coated.
  5. Heat oil in a cast iron skillet, deep fryer, or large pan over medium heat.
  6. Fry chicken pieces in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 15-20 minutes depending on size.
  7. Drain on slotted rack or paper towels and serve hot.
